Compensation: $32-$52/hr


About the role:

Thiess is seeking a Diesel Mechanic (site) to support our mining team on our project site near Denver, Colorado. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for the safe repair of the mining shovel, loader, haul truck, water truck, dozer, grader, and miscellaneous support equipment.


About you:

  • 2 to 5 years of experience with diesel/heavy equipment repair
  • Post-secondary certificate or degree in mechanical/welding
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results within a team environment with minimal supervision at times.
  • Heavy equipment welding experience
  • The ability to work in a team environment
  • Mining or heavy industrial construction experience is considered an asset
  • Heavy equipment welding experience

  • Ability and willingness to work different schedules on-site based on project needs 
  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Authorization to work lawfully in the USA without sponsorship from Thiess is required.
  • Must be fluent in the English language



  • Perform electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs as well as preventative maintenance
  • Troubleshoot issues with diesel engines
  • Determine what parts and tools are necessary to make repairs
  • Complete shop paperwork
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
