Schedule: Office hours are from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.
Please note this position is primarily in-office and not a hybrid role.
Compensation: $70k-$85k plus benefits (M/D/V 401k w/match)

Summary

Under the supervision of the CFO, this position is responsible for various accounting duties. This position is an integral part of the accounting team and helps to ensure that AP, AR and reconciliations are done timely, accurately and efficiently. This position will be responsible for journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, assisting in the preparation of monthly journal entries and close, audit support requests, and other projects as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Examining expenses submitted by employees, including reconciling credit cards and Amazon.
• Maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded.
• Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger.
• Analyzes current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to explain reasons for month-over-month changes.
• Keeping an eye on incoming payments from accounts receivable and outgoing payments from accounts payable.
• Coordinate with Accounting Supervisor to prepare and submit Accounts Receivable invoices.
• Generating financial reports as requested.
• Monthly reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts, including bank statements.
• Create Month End Adjusting Journal Entries.
• Assist with maintaining internal controls.
• Assist in audit preparations.
• Other duties or special projects as requested.

Education and Experience Qualifications Requirements

• Degree in accounting or finance required, with 2-4 years related experience.
• Applicant must be a critical thinker, curious, diligent, organized, self-motivated, able to work well as part of a team, and able to handle confidential information.
• Excel in a time-sensitive, deadline-driven environment with the ability to prioritize and keep a positive outlook.
• Detail-oriented problem solver.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills.

Education and Experience Qualifications Preferences

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL project-based accounting software is a plus.
• Knowledge of Government Contractor Cost Accounting requirements and understanding of FAR/DFARs requirements is a plus.
• Other Skills and Abilities.
