The Center for Valued Living, PLLC (C4VL), a Colorado-based mental health private practice, is dedicated to providing accessible, insurance-based mental health care to diverse clients across Colorado and beyond, with a focus on underserved and underrepresented populations. We serve individuals aged 3 and up, using anti-racist, neurodivergent-affirming, and queer-allied principles to create a powerfully reparative and healing environment. Through a collaborative team approach, we aim to positively impact clients' holistic well-being and equip them with skills for lasting success in their personal and professional lives. The Asst Clinical Director plays a huge role in the success of this mission.

As the Asst Clinical Director, you are responsible for overseeing the clinical functions of the practice, ensuring high standards of client care, supervising clinical staff, alignment with the company’s mission, developing the training program, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. The Asst Clinical Director works closely with the Director of Operations to align clinical and operational goals, supporting both staff and organizational development. This role is pivotal in maintaining the practice's reputation for high-quality mental health care and advancing its clinical programs.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Oversight
    • Provide leadership, direct oversight, and consultation to all licensed providers and clinical supervisors in both therapy and assessment clinical areas
    • Ensure clinical services meet the highest ethical and professional standards through the development, implementation, and monitoring of evidence-based best practices, clinical policies, and procedures.
    • Monitors annual training requirements and needs, and ensures completion by all providers (e.g., HIPAA training, multicultural training)
    • Mentor and guide clinical staff across various sites, fostering a unified approach to clinical excellence and professional development.
  • Human Resource Support
    • Recruit, hire, and onboard clinical employees, supervisors, and interns in collaboration with the Clinical Director
    • In collaboration with other team members, participate in and contribute to performance evaluations of clinical employees
    • In collaboration with leadership team, foster a positive work culture, obtain feedback from employees, and develop strategies to hire and retain talent
  • Supervision, Consultation and Training
    • Oversee, train, and consult with clinical supervisors of student therapists and pre licensed therapists to ensure excellent oversight and training of supervisees
    • Operate as a first-line resource for supervisors and licensed employees to consult on clinical, ethical, or legal issues related to treatment
    • Organize and facilitate ongoing monthly training program on pertinent and clinically relevant topics that also align with organizational values, tracking participation of clinical staff
    • Monitor that all supervisees are meeting their training needs and contractual obligations
    • Manage the multi-day intern training each August for incoming interns; if interns onboard in January, also manage their multi-day training
    • Provide office hours / clinical consultation meetings for clinical staff
  • Regulatory Compliance and Ethics
    • Ensure compliance with relevant local, state and federal laws and regulations
    • Track initial and annual requirements for all employees and interns
    • Maintain updated clinical documentation protocols and ensures staff training and adherence
    • Oversee efforts to prepare for audits or review by insurance companies, regulatory bodies, or licensing boards
    • Serve as the HIPAA compliance officer (HCO), ensuring that all clinical and administrative processes meet HIPAA requirements for the protection of client information, including completing organizational risk audits with other members of the leadership team ensuring that technology systems and administrative processes comply with HIPAA privacy and security rules
    • Investigate any potential breaches of HIPAA regulations, reporting incidents as necessary, and overseeing corrective action plans
  • Program Development/Management and Quality Assurance
    • With the Director of Operations, improve clinical programs and procedures / processes to meet community and organizational needs
    • Oversee and evaluate clinical outcomes, client retention, and client satisfaction through regular quality assurance reviews
    • Lead the continuous refinement and implementation of clinical protocols and procedures ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
    • Schedule meetings/check-ins with clinical staff on a regular, rotating basis to ensure provider satisfaction 
    • Oversee and monitor clinical staff scheduling, workload distribution, and resource allocation
    • Participate in strategic planning meetings to align clinical goals with the overall vision of the practice
  • Crisis Management and Risk Mitigation
    • Provide crisis and risky situation support to all clinical providers
    • Oversee crisis intervention protocols, ensuring the clinical team is well-prepared to handle emergencies, minimizing clinical liability and protecting client and provider welfare
  • Community Engagement
    • Serve as clinical representative in community outreach efforts, building partnerships and referral networks
    • Represent the practice at community and training events
    • Collaborate with Director of Operations/CEO to ensure accurate representation of clinical services in marketing materials

Hours: 20 hours per week

Required Qualifications:

-Education: Master’s or Doctorate degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution.

-Licensure: Active, unrestricted mental health license in Colorado (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, PSY).

-Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a clinical leadership role, including direct oversight of licensed providers and supervisors.

-Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of mental health regulations, ethics, HIPAA compliance, and clinical best practices.

-Clinical Supervision: Proven ability to oversee and consult with clinical supervisors and licensed staff on treatment, ethics, and legal issues.

-Compliance and Documentation: Proficiency in maintaining clinical documentation protocols and ensuring staff adherence, as well as preparing for audits and reviews by insurance companies or regulatory bodies.

-Technical Proficiency: Competency with healthcare management software, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and the ability to quickly learn new project management tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Leadership: Demonstrated experience fostering a positive work culture, hiring, and retaining talent, and conducting performance evaluations.

-Crisis Management: Experience with crisis intervention protocols and supporting clinical providers during emergencies.

-Bilingual/Multilingual: Fluency in English/Spanish or other languages is highly valued.

-Diversity & Inclusion: Individuals with lived experience in traditionally marginalized communities or advanced DEI training are encouraged to apply.

-Clinical Program Development: Experience in developing and improving clinical programs, procedures, and staff training aligned with organizational goals.

-Insurance Knowledge: Understanding of insurance credentialing, contracting, benefits, and coding processes.

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.

 

$55-$60/hr to start DOE as W2 

This compensation is for the administrative role only and does not include any additional agreed upon compensation or benefits for supervision of trainees or direct clinical care, which would be contracted separately and if deemed full time, it could make the ACD eligible for an additional bonus.
