A Customer Service Applications Engineer prepares detailed proposals for complex automation
equipment and supports the Customer Service team to present the concepts to customers. The
Applications Engineer supports the company goals, values and philosophy by exhibiting the
following behaviors: excellence, quality service, positive behavior, commitment and
accountability. As a member of the Mikron team, performance includes demonstration of the
following accountabilities: communication, teamwork and job knowledge. This position supports
the overall CS Sales and CS Applications Engineering functions of the business.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with the Key Account Manager, Program Manager, and/or Customer Service

  • Manager on all aspects of the process.
  • Review the customer specifications, drawings and products to develop an assembly machine concept based on our standard assembly platforms. Provide our customers with product design support to improve the assembly process.
  • Determine customer requirements and sales strategy 

Develop:

  • Automated assembly concepts
  • Sub-systems specifications and costings through direct contact with suppliers
  • Detailed project cost estimates as the basis for the sales price
  • Technical PowerPoint presentations
  • Consultation and collaboration with our internal engineering leads to address specific design concerns or issues to ensure correct pricing.
  • Communicate with the customer during the proposal phase.
  • Work with other Applications Engineers as necessary.
  • Write quotations and present your solution to our customers
  • Make sales calls with Key Account Managers to provide automation technical support in their consulting and selling efforts with customers, with the purpose to significantly increase probability of closing orders.
  • Hand-off the project to the CS Program Manager/KAM appointed
  • Be a consultant to the Operations staff during the project phase while gathering feedback on quote accuracy for continuous improvement
  • Reporting
  • Keep Salesforce system up to date with pricing information
  • Maintain proposal folders
  • Create reports as necessary

Professional & Technical Skills:

  • •Education : BS Engineering.
  • Experience : Minimum 5 years experience in Engineering or Applications Engineering in the machine building industry.
  • Ability to travel 25% of time.
  • Ability to create and present a project specific presentation.

Location: Englewood, CO and on site required

Travel: 25%

Salary: 75,000-85,000K Annually with benefits, 401K package
